About us

Community Cat Angels (CCA) is a registered 501(C)3 nonprofit organization (Tax ID# 844309208) dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing community cats.  Our sole focus is addressing the crisis of an ever increasing feral and stray cat population in the Las Vegas valley. CCA is comprised solely of volunteers, we receive no government funding and we rely on the kindness and generosity of donors to support our programs.  It has only been with the help of our followers, donors, and the community that we can make a greater impact.

Our Vision

A Las Vegas community where cats’ lives matter and all are treated humanely.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple and achievable with your help.  We will rescue these abandoned and neglected community cats and will work hard to:

  • Rescue them
  • Rehabilitate them
  • Re-home them in a safe, loving environment
  • Repeat

What Are Community Cats?

Community Cats have lived in the wild for generations without human contact and usually, cannot be domesticated.  They are also stray cats that had once been pets but were lost or abandoned by their owners.  They now have to fend for themselves, free roaming, in a cruel and dangerous life on the streets.  Community cats are susceptible to harsh weather conditions, predators, infections and diseases that can result in a painful existence, requiring medical care (that many don't receive).

Our Focus

  • To significantly reduce the community cat population through Trap/Neuter/Release, a humane program whereby feral cats are spayed or neutered and then returned to their colonies so they can live out their lives without the possibility of further reproduction.
  • To provide pregnant community cats with prenatal and postnatal care, as well as the nutrition needed to ensure the delivery of healthy kittens.
  • To vigorously socialize feral kittens during the very brief but critical time period when they can be domesticated through placement in safe, loving foster homes to make sure they become adoptable pets.
  • To rehabilitate stray cats so they can once again adjust to living with people and can be rehomed permanently as healthy, well-adjusted pets.
  • To promote healthy community cats and kittens through vaccinations and the medical treatment of parasites, infections and immunodeficiency viruses.
  • To provide emergency medical treatment, life-saving surgery or, when necessary, humane euthanasia to cats who have been severely traumatized, disabled or injured.
  • To collaborate with other community-based animal welfare organizations in securing adoptions into forever homes for Community Cat Angels cats and kittens.

How You Can Help

Being involved in the rehabilitation process of community cats is a rewarding and fulfilling experience.  There are many ways to contribute, either financially or through in-kind gifts. Volunteers are needed to assist in the care of cats and kittens as well as for administrative and fundraising support.  Whether you foster, adopt, donate or volunteer: There’s nothing like seeing a sickly, scared kitty turn into a cuddly and playful house cat. We rely solely on the generosity of donors to support our programs. Contributions of money, time or talent are greatly appreciated. Community Cat Angels could not thrive without your support.
